Our Minnesota Twins are off to a decent start – even with the rainy wet spring we’ve had here in the Twin Cities. But, how much do you know about our beloved baseball team? Here are some fun facts about our Minnesota Twins.

Why Do Minnesotans Love Their Twins?

Minnesotans are loyal fans of our Minnesota Twins baseball team. We seem to have a love/hate relationship with all our sports teams, but probably more so with the Twins than any other team. Every season we start with fresh hopes and dreams and they give us a ride for sure. Many times (lately) they land near the bottom, but they’re also the team that has given Minnesota two World Championships – so we can’t ever
give up on our favorite team. Here are a few reasons why we love our Minnesota Twins.

Kent Hrbek showed up at her doorsteps the day the system was installed. All this is good and nice, but many of you might be thinking, "sure I'd like a new system, but because it's free doesn't mean it's good!" Well, we sat down with Mr. Stay Comfy Minnesota, himself, Danny Burford and talked to him about the system we will give away this year. Danny tells us that the winner of the Carrier System Giveaway is in for a treat.

Kent Hrbek Day

Happy Kent Hrbek Day! Kent Hrbek Day, also known as Kent Hrbek's 53rd birthday, is today. All of us from Stay Comfy, Minnesota would like to wish our spokesman a happy birthday!

Stay Comfy, Minnesota is a proud sponsor of the The ALS Association Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota Chapter, a not-for-profit voluntary health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons and causes degeneration of those motor neurons throughout the brain and spinal cord. A common first symptom is a painless weakness in a hand, foot, arm or leg, which occurs in more than half of all cases. Other early symptoms could include speech, swallowing or walking difficulties.

This cause is close to the hearts of many at Stay Comfy, Minnesota and Carrier, especially Carrier spokesman and former Minnesota Twins player, Kent Hrbek. He explains in this video:

There's no denying that Target Field has been a hit (pun intended) with both baseball players and fans alike. It was even named Sports Facility of the Year by Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily.

While it's exciting to think about all of the memories that are sure to be made inside Target Field, Twins fans also cannot forget all the memories made at the Metrodome.

There's been a lot of talk around Joe Mauer this season, and now former Minnesota Twins player and Carrier spokesman, Kent Hrbek, is chiming in too!

Hrbek says he cheers for Mauer, and could probably learn a few things from him. There's a lot of similarities between these two Twins fans...

We all love to see the Minnesota Twins strike out an opponent, but that strike out means even more thanks to Carrier, the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota/North Dakota Chapter of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Association.

During the 2011 season, the Minnesota Twins and Carrier will donate $20 to the ALS Association for every home game strike out. The money raised will help fund The ALS Association’s programs that provide individual and family guidance and support to those affected by ALS.

They say in Minnesota, you can always complain about the weather. Either it's too hot, or too cold. Too windy or too humid. To sunny or too cloudy. But ask former Minnesota Twins player and Carrier spokesman, Kent Hrbek, and he'll tell you he enjoys Minnesota weather year-round!
